
The new Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center has 284 beds, 14 operating rooms, and provides the only Level-1 trauma care in the city. Completed in 2016, the 460,000 sq. ft. steel momentframe structure sits on a mat foundation with 115 base isolators. The hospital consists of two levels below grade and eight levels above grade including a mechanical penthouse.
